Sopore, Nov 29: Stone pelting and protests were witnessed during the funeral procession of the slain militant, Mehraj Sofi ,in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Thursday here.
According to local reports, the funeral prayers of the slain militant, who was killed in a gunfight with forces along with top Lashkar Commander Naveed Jat in Budgam on Wednesday, was held in historical Iqbal Market this morning.
Police resorted to teargas shelling to deter the stone pelting protesters.
