SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 28: Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr Mohammad Saleem Malik today chaired an awareness-cum-workshop regarding Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and mission Antodaya survey.
District Panchayat Officer Riyaz Ah, Ad planning, Panchayat Secretaries, VLW’S, MPW’S, MIS Operators were also present on the occasion.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding the formation of GPDP and the role of Panchayat Secretary as the facilitator of the GPDP to fill the critical gaps in the development process in rural areas of the district.
On the occasion, ADDC said that Panchayats have a significant role to play in the effective and efficient implementation of flagship schemes. He directed all concerned officers of the line departments to nominate their frontline workers who will coordinate with Rural Development Department field functionaries in making Gram Sabha plans inclusive and effective.
GPDP is an annual plan of each Panchayat where the villagers would decide where the money should be spent. It is also an intensive and structured exercise for planning at Gram Sabha level through convergence between Panchayat Raj institutions and concerned departments.
Practical demonstration was given by Distt. panchayat officer Riyaz Ahmad regarding uploading of mission Antodaya data on the relevant website. He also said that GPDP and Mission AntodayaSurvey be accomplished with full zeal.
