DDC reviews progress of enrollment under PMJAY in Kupwara

KUPWARA, NOVEMBER 28: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and Common Service Centre (CSC) coordinators to review the progress of enrollment and the need to accelerate the pace of enrollment under Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in the district.

On the occasion, DDC urged the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and Common Service Centre Coordinators to work in close coordination with BMOs, revenue authorities and other rural functionaries for timely identification and speedy enrollment of beneficiaries for the distribution of Gold Card under Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

DDC directed the concerned that the enrollment process across the district should be completed within a week’s time as the State as well as the Central government is closely monitoring the whole process. He emphasized that the objective of the scheme should in itself motivate each and every person involved to work with zeal for ensuring and delivering change in the life of the people of this frontier district.

The District Coordinator CSC informed the chair that about 20,000 households have been identified for coverage under PMJAY in the district and the process is going on in good flow.

On the occasion, DDC also distributed 20 Morpho devices among VLEs to speed up the process of enrollment across the district.

Pertinent to mention, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) aims to provide an annual health cover of Rs 5 lakh for 50 crore people in 26 states, so that out of pocket medical expenses are reduced for use in other aspects of development.

The meeting was attended by District Coordinator CSC, Javid Ahmad, VLEs, CSCs and other concerned.
