JAMMU NOVEMBER 27: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today felicitated cyclists Rameez Raza and Wahid Ahmad for their medal winning performance in a national level event held recently in Haryana.

Both the athletes along with the President, State’s Cycling Association and other officers met the Advisor in his office at Civil Secretariat. The Advisor interacted with the cyclists who briefed him about their journey in the championship and future plans.

Complementing the athletes for their exceptional performance and winning the medals in the championship, K Vijay Kumar wished them all the best for their upcoming events and assured every possible help for performing well in future games. He said that state government is making all possible efforts in upgrading sports infrastructure and providing specialized training to the youth in their respective sports field.

The cyclists, Rameez Raza and Wahid Ahmad hailing from district Budgam in Kashmir division have won Gold and Silver medal respectively in 20 Km Ordinary Indian Made Cycle Road Race event in 23rd National Road Race Cycling Championship held at Kurukshetra in Haryana from November 21-24, 2018.

President J K Cycling Association Ravinder Singh, Associate Secretary JK Cycling Association Om Prakash and Secretary JK Sports Council Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary were present on the occasion.
