IIPA organizes 17th Veeranna Aivalli Memorial Debate

Jammu, November 26: The 17th Veeranna Aivalli Memorial Debate was organized today in the Brig. Rajinder Singh Memorial Auditorium of Jammu University. The debate was organized by Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) J&K Police Chapter, J&K Police in collaboration with Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu.

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof. Manoj K. Dhar was the Guest of Honour and Dr. Ashok Bhan IPS (Retd.) Patron IIPA J&K Regional Branch presided over the function.

While thanking the IIPA and the Jammu University the DGP said that Veeranna Aivalli, who was the founder of the Jammu Kashmir chapter of IIPA was an institution in himself. He said that he was an able administrator and a thinking police officer who was keen on developing a relationship between Police and civil society. Narrating his personal experience with the Late Veeranna Aivalli the DGP said that for him learning was an un-ending experience and he would share his knowledge and experiences. The DGP said that Aivalli was instrumental in creating place for the police force among the civil society with his initiatives like IIPA.

The DGP also praised the participants for their confident and extempore performance. He said that IIPA is doing a great job by organizing such meaningful and valuable debates. He said that IIPA over the years has a great tradition of having very vibrant and lively debates.

In his address Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University Prof. Manoj K. Dhar said that Jammu University have the privilege of holding all the debates of Veeranna Aivalli Memorial since its beginning. Highlighting the importance of the debates he said that this is very essential for public life.

In his presidential address Dr. Ashok Bhan IPS (Retd.) Pattron IIPA J&K Regional Branch thanked the DGP Dilbag Singh for including the memorial debate in the annual calendar of J&K Police. While highlighting the contributions of Late Veeranna Aivalli Dr. Bhan said that the aim of the IIPA is to provide a platform to academicians, bureaucrats, youth and police officers to sit together and create more and more capacity building for good governance.

Among others wife of the Veeranna Aivalli, Swarn Aivalli and other members of Aivalli family, galaxy of serving and retired bureaucrats, police officers, academicians and students were present. On the conclusion of the function cash prizes, trophies and certificates were distributed.
