Baig rips through PDP’s election boycott strategy
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Nov 20: Senior PDP leader and one of the founding members of the party Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Tuesday appeared set to part ways with the party saying that its boycott of local body and ongoing panchayat polls made no sense.

Any political party that does not take part in elections has no reason to exist, Baig said in a hurriedly- called press conference in Srinagar.

The Member Parliament (MP) from Baramulla was scathing in his criticism of the party saying that it blindly followed NC in boycotting the civic polls.

Baig also dropped enough hints that he may join Sajad Gani Lone’s People’s Conference, which if it happens, will be a sort of “home coming” for him.

Pertinently, Beigh had started his career with Lone’s father Abdul Gani Lone both as lawyer and subsequently in politics as well.
