Baramulla: Several people were injured after supporters of a mainstream political party pelted stones on counting center at Government Higher Secondary School Nambla on Saturday late evening where an independent candidate was leading.
Witnesses said that forces have to fire in the air after Congress supporters allegedly attacked counting center as Congress candidate lost by two votes in close and tough contest in Panchayat polls for Nambla C village. Counting of Nambla A and B was halted for some time.
The injured have been referred to nearby hospital for treatment.
