Srinagar, Nov 15: A police team from Police Station Sonamarg had a narrow escape at Zojila pass on Srinagar-Kargil highway last evening when landslides hit the area.
The team was clearing the stranded vehicles at Zojila when snowfall triggered landslides in the area.
“Couple of landslides hit the area when we were carrying out rescue work. Luckily, they took place little far away from the spot where we were carrying out the rescue operation,” a police officer said.
He said that the team included police personnel from Police Station Sonamarg, Traffic Police personnel and Beacon officials.
