Kumar visit SDH Dooru, ReA Hospital in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, NOVEMBER 14: The Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today visited newly constructed building of Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Dooru.

The Director Health Services, Kashmir and CMO, Anantnag informed the Advisor that new building of SDH Dooru, getting constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.21.17 crore, is executed by Police Housing Corporation. It includes construction of the main building, flood protection works, development of roads and land.

The MLA Dooru Syed Farooq Indrabi also met the Advisor to apprise him with various issues related to his constituency. Besides, other facilities, the MLA requested the Advisor for providing a central heating system and other facilities for the hospital.

The Advisor was informed that the new building is laced with the modern health facilities including CT scan, digital X-Ray, blood bank, operation theatres, male-female wards, laboratory and other basic facilities.

Various deputations including Auqaf Committee Dooru and Traders Federation Dooru also had meetings with Kumar. During these meetings, the delegations requested the Advisor to make the hospital functional soon. The delegations also appealed the Advisor to ensure that old SDH also remains functional so that the population of the adjacent areas shall not suffer due to its closure. The delegations also demanded the construction of a water supply scheme at village Zambalgam. A delegation from Auqaf Verinag also met the Advisor and requested for construction of new PHC building for Verinag.

Later, the Advisor also visited Rehmat-e-Aalam (ReA) Hospital, Anantnag, developed by JKPCC. He was informed that the Maternity and Child Care Hospital Sharbagh, Anantnag will be shifted to the Rehmat-E-Aalam Hospital, Anantnag once the work on the latter completes.

Kumar also chaired a high-level meeting at DIG South Headquarters at Anantnag to review the security situation with senior police and security officers of South Kashmir.

The DDC, Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik, Director Health Services Kashmir, SSP, Anantnag, CMO, Anantnag and other officers from various departments were also present during the visit of the Advisor.
