Meanwhile, Residents of Amirabad village in Tral staged a protest against shortage of electricity as they blocked the road leading to Tral Township.

“Amirabad village is just one kilometer away from Tral Town but the High Tension (HT) wire has been unnecessarily taken through different villages and thereby increasing its length,” they said.

“The transmission line suffers frequent short circuits which lead to electricity crisis in our village,” they added.

When contacted Executive Engineer PDD Pulwama Hamid Ullah Wani said, “We have reached to the spot and assured the residents about the redressal of their grievances.”

Meanwhile, Executive Engineer PDD Tral said, “The electricity wires have been installed in the village some twenty years ago and if the residents are facing any inconvenience they should visit the PDD with an application so that we can look for the desired solutions.”
