ADC Bandipora reviews enrolment under AB-PMJAY scheme

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 13: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Tuesday convened a meeting to review the preparations for the implementation of the national flagship programme, Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the district.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Bilkees Mir, Chief Education Officer Munshi Javid, Nodal Officer ISM, Dr Iftikar, Joint Director Planning Abdul Majeed Karnai, Tehsildar (headquarters) Mubashir Saleem Nazki, Lead District Manager, representatives from Common Service Centres and Khidmat Centres.

The meeting discussed threadbare the preparations for enrolment of beneficiaries under the national flagship programme Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the district.

It was said that an awareness campaign will be launched in order to sensitize the beneficiaries about the benefits of getting enrolled under the health insurance scheme for economically weaker section of the society identified under Socio-Economic Caste Sense 2011.

The meeting was informed that there are 16000 households identified under Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 consisting of about 96000 individuals who are entitled to be covered under the scheme in the district.

The meeting was informed that 120 Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Khidmat Centres across the district will enroll beneficiaries under the scheme. The CSC officials will be aided by the officials of Health Department, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and other allied staff to ensure no entitled family is left behind.

The Ayushman Bharat scheme is targeted at poor, deprived rural families and identified occupational category of urban workers’ families and entitles beneficiaries to a defined benefit cover of Rs 5 lac per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
