Jammu: A journalist was on Saturday night shot at by some inebriated youth in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu district. He escaped unhurt in the attack.

Sources said that Alok Pathania, a senior cameraman of Hindi daily, State Samachar and his friend, Satyajit, were clicking photographs on Saturday night when some drunken youth abused them in Gandhi Nagar area.

“When confronted, they opened fire at me and my advocate friend,” said Pathania.

As per sources, the accused, residents of Gandhi Nagar, have been identified with the help of CCTV footage, but police are yet to register an FIR into the incident.

A complaint in this case was lodged on Saturday night by the journalist and his friend at Gandhi Nagar police station.
