Education key to ensure overall progress, transform society: Chairman LC

KARGIL, NOVEMBER 11: Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali today called for collective efforts to bring about improvement in the educational scenario in Government-run schools and impressed upon all the stakeholders to put in their efforts towards the same.

The Chairman stated this while addressing the 2nd Annual Day celebrations of Government Model Middle School Lankore at Auditorium Hall Kargil here today.

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan, Executive Councilor for Works Nassir Hussain Munshi, Councillor Kargil Town Haji Muhammad Abass, Chief Education Officer Muhammad Mussa and Headmaster of the school Muhammad Jaffar were also present on the occasion.

The Chairman while appreciating the staff, parents and Management Committee members of the School for successfully running the Institute on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode for the third consecutive year said that the institution has now emerged as an inspiration for others to follow.

He said that a solid education system is a vehicle that will ensure success which demands the participation of the whole society. He also urged upon the CEC Kargil to take up more schools in the district under the PPP mode. He assured the school management of all possible support to ensure the fulfillment of all their demands and concerns.

CEC Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan in his address expressed satisfaction over the performance of the school. He also announced Rs 10,000 cash in favour of the students who performed well in the annual day programme.

The CEC said that Hill Council is fully committed to give impetus to the education sector in the district. He urged upon the teachers and parents that opportunities be given to groom youngsters to pursue their career in line with their interest and aptitude in a certain field and expressed hope that teachers and Village Education Committee Members will continue to work with the same spirit for the upliftment of the school in future as well.

While responding to the demands for up gradation of the school to High School level, compound walling, infrastructural development and posting of Class IV, the CEC assured the school authorities that all their demands and concerns would be addressed in a phased manner.

Executive Councillor for Works Nassir Hussain Munshi highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in the learning process of children and hailed the participating students for excellent rendering of their performances.

Earlier, the students presented a variety of programmes including Naat e Sharief, qawali, kindergarten demo, traditional music and dance, skits, rhymes, and mimes.

Later, Chairman LC, CEC Kargil, and EC Works distributed prizes and mementoes among the students for their outstanding performance in studies as well as co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Among others who were present on the occasion included DySP HQR Kargil Syed Mujahidul Haq, Assistant Director Planning Muhammad Hadi, Assistant Director Information Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak, teachers, VEC members, a large number of parents and students.
