JAMMU, NOVEMBER 08: Secretary Social Welfare, Cooperatives & Tribal Affairs Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone today called for immediate disbursement of pension to the 40000 new cases sanctioned by the Social Welfare Department recently.

“The pension to these new cases must be disbursed by 15 November 2018failing which action will be taken against the delinquent District Social Welfare Officers,” Dr Lone said at a meeting convened here today to review the functioning of Directorate of Social Welfare Jammu, Women’s Dev Corporation and SC/ST/BC Development Corporation.

The Secretary Social Welfare directed the concerned that it must be ensured that replacements against the weeded-out cases are made on monthly basis to overcome the backlog.

Director Social Welfare Jammu, Managing Directors of the respective Corporations, Director Finance SWD, Director Planning and Additional Secretary Social Welfare were present in the meeting

Director Social Welfare informed the meeting that the social security pension is regularly released in favour of beneficiaries through DBT mode and process of transferring it to EBT mode is on. He said in respect of schemes, other than old age pension scheme under NSAP which is already in EBT mode, process has already started.

The meeting was informed that Women’s Development Corporation has disbursed Rs 13.33 crore among 720 beneficiaries during the current year.

Dr one asked the Corporation to achieve a target of Rs 30 crore by the end of current financial year.

Similarly, the SC ST BC Corporation has disbursed Rs 10.45 crore among 521 beneficiaries. A target of Rs 25 crore was fixed for the corporation during current year.
