Baramulla/Jammu: A man died after hit by a lightning strike in Gawalan village of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Locals said that  Sher Ahmad (39) son of Mir Ahmad, a resident of Gawalan, Uri died when lightning struck him when he was working in fields.

He was rushed to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man was killed and two others were injured when they were struck by lightning in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Saturday.

Farooq Ahmad Bakarwal, his daughter Rafia and uncle Abdullah were hit by the lightning inside their house at Kun Darorian village in the Katra area around midnight, a police official said.

He said Bakarwal died on the spot, while his daughter and uncle were injured and shifted to a hospital.
