Budgam, Nov 01: Anjuman Sharie Shia, a religio-political organisation of Shias in Jammu and Kashmir has called for a shutdown in Budgam tomorrow against the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) summon to its president Aga Syed Hassan.

The call was announced from central Imam Bargah here, urging people to observe shutdown and hold protests.

Earlier, NIA “directed” Hassan who also is a senior separatist leader to appear before the agency on Friday.

The NIA summon reads, “National Investigation Agency has registered case No. RC-10/2017/NIA/DLI and the undersigned in investigating the case. It appears that you are acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the case.”

“You are hereby directed to appear before the undersigned on 2nd November 2018 at 10:00 Hrs at Police Officers Mess, Humhama Srinagar in connection with investigation of the case.”

It is pertinent to mention that NIA had conducted a day-long raid at the residence of Anjuman Sharie president in September last year, after which protests had erupted in Budgam.

Hundreds of locals including female protesters had led a massive march towards residence of Hurriyat leader to express their solidarity.
