ADDC Shopian reviews implementation of Panchayat development plan

SHOPIAN OCTOBER 31: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Mohammad Saleem today chaired a meeting to review the implementation and preparedness of Gram Panchayat Development Programme (GPDP) in the district here at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.

Among others the meeting was attended by, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, Irrigation, Assistant Labour Commissioner, District Panchayat Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agricultural Officer, Chief Education Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, and other concerned attended the meeting.

The threadbare discussions were held during the meeting. On the occasion, ADDC said that the Panchayats have a significant role to play in effective and efficient implementation of flagship schemes for the transformation of rural areas in the district. The GPDP will be an intensive and structured exercise for planning at Gram Sabha level through convergence between Panchayat Raj institutions and concerned departments of the district.

ADDC said Gram Sabha meetings will be held for preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plan for the next financial year 2019-2020.

Various sectors including Agriculture, Irrigation, Animal husbandry, Fisheries, Social Forestry, Small scale industries, Khadi & village industry, Rural housing, Drinking water,  Roads, Rural electrification, Education ,Vocational education, Adult and informal education, libraries, Health and sanitation, Women and child development, Social welfare, Welfare of weaker sections, Public distribution system and Maintenance of community assets.

ADDC also directed the concerned officers to nominate their representatives who will conduct the Gram Panchayat Development Programme Meetings.
