Mega Legal Services awareness camp held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 29: A mega legal services awareness camp was held at Bandipora, organised by District Legal Services Authority Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora.

The camp was inaugurated and presided over by District and Sessions Judge Bandipora Syed Sarfaraz Hussain Shah and was attended by ADC Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, district officers of various departments, officers of the judiciary, bar members besides a large number of beneficiaries.

ADC Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir presented welcome address and gave a brief account of the services provided by various departments in the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Sessions Judge Syed Sarfaraz Hussain gave a historical account of the origin of legal services authorities in the country and importance of organising a legal services camp in the district.

As many as18 stalls by different departments like Health, Education, FCS&CA, Social welfare, District Industries, J&K Bank, Fisheries, Floriculture, Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts, Handloom were installed.

Around 1000 of beneficiaries were benefited by way of provisions of free medical aid, guidance, literature material, plants and seeds for afforestation, tools and kits at the camp.

Sessions judge Syed Sarfaraz Hussain Shah and ADC Bandipora while inspecting the stalls provided benefits to the beneficiaries under different schemes.

The departments on the occasion delivered their services, wherein Social Welfare department distributed 07 scooties, 08 wheelchairs, 08 hearing aids and 10 walking sticks among the disabled persons.

On the occasion, FCS&CA Department distributed 08 gas connections among the beneficiaries under PMUY scheme.

Soil health cards by Agriculture Department and Nutrient Supplements along with deworming drugs were distributed by Animal and Sheep Husbandry department. Physical fitness certificates, medical aid and screening services were provided by the department of health and ISM during the camp.

Principal District and Sessions judge on the occasion thanked the efforts of District Administration, Officers of various departments and judiciary for their cooperation and tremendous support in holding Mega Legal Services cum Awareness Camp at District Headquarter. He also appreciated the people who participated in the camp.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora during his address highlighted the significance of the camp and said such events enable different departments to deliver their services in smooth, efficient and coordinated manner.
