Man found shot dead in Pulwama identified as police officer

Pulwama: The bullet ridden body of a man found in the orchards at Chewa-kalan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday afternoon has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir,  resident of  Sountbugh-Ticken village.
According to the local sources, Mir was a sub-inspector in the Jammu and Kashmir police’s CID wing.
Locals here said that gunshots were heard in Chewa-Kalan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama at around 4 pm on Sunday afternoon.
“Later a bullet ridden body was recovered along with his private vehicle bearing number JK01AD 8352,” they added
A police official in Pulwama said,  “unknown gunmen had fired upon Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir,  resident of  Sountbugh-Ticken village at Chewa-Kalan  area of the district and his bullet ridden body was recovered from the spot.”
Mir was posted at Srinagar district.
