CHINAR CORPS CELEBRATES 72nd INFANTRY DAY

Srinagar: Chinar Corps celebrated the 72nd Infantry Day at BB Cantt today.

“The celebration began with a solemn wreath laying ceremony in which the Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen AK Bhatt and all ranks paid tribute to the martyrs at War Memorial at Badami Bagh Cantonment,” a defense spokesman said in a statement issued here today.

Paying homage to the sacrifice of valiant soldiers, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, said that the ‘real tribute to these martyrs would be to remain committed to the cause for which they had laid down their lives’ and also urged the troops to continue to working with the same dedication and steadfast approach.

“He said that it was also a day for the Chinar Corps to rededicate itself to the well being of the people of Kashmir. We are celebrating the Infantry Day at a place, which has a historic significance, it is here that the Indian Army began its campaign to evict Pakistan invaders and succeeded in doing so with glory. We are all grateful to our valiant martyrs, heroes and soldiers,” the spokesman quoted Lt Gen Bhat as saying.
