SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 26: The field executives of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) today booked a number of crockery dealers for offering for sale various items without proper labelling.
During inspections, a large quantity of crockery items like Herb Mincer, baby-feeder, cookie-cutters, tissue-paper holders, glassware, napkins etc was seized by the LMD team on the spot for violation of labelling norms.
An amount of Rs.28000 was collected as fine from the erring dealers.
Under Legal Metrology laws, every pre-packed crockery item is required to carry on the label price tag/month and Year of manufacture/Customer-care details etc so that the consumer may take a rational decision while making any purchase.
