DDC Shopian reviews power scenario in district

SHOPIAN, NOV 15: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian Dr. Owais Ahmed today convened a meeting of PDD officers at here at mini secretariat Arhama to review the power scenario in the district.

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer PDD and other concerned officers.

The meeting was informed that due to unprecedented snowfall on November 3rd and November 4th, towers were badly damaged in Shopian, Wonpoh and Awantipora, due to which the regular power supply to the District Shopian was affected. It was said that repair work on both the towers is on progress and will be completed within two weeks.

On the occasion, DDC appealed consumers to cooperate with PDD department until the damaged towers will be repaired. He said PDD department has already deployed men and machinery for the early repair of towers so that the electricity can be restored in all parts of the district as early as possible. DDC directed PDD officers for arranging the buffer stock of transformers during the winter season.
