SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 25: To discuss various issues pertaining to the tribal community living in the state, Advisor K Vijay Kumar chaired a meeting with the senior officers, here today.

Commissioner Secretary Forests M K Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary R&B Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Commissioner Secretary Tribal Affairs Farooq Ahmad Lone and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Advisor held discussions with the concerned officers on various issues/concerns which were raised by the representatives of Tribal Community during their meeting with the Advisor Kumar.

The issues discussed in the meeting includes implementation of Forests Right Act, 2006 in the state on the analogy of rest of India, development of cluster villages under Tribal Sub Plan, vacation of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel building at Pulwama, construction of Girls Gujjar and Bakerwal hostel at Harwan, improvement of roads and construction of community hall at village LadhooGosianard Gujjar Basti.

The Advisor held detailed discussion on all these issues and was briefed about the status or action taken by the concerned departments in this regard.

He asked the officers for looking into the issues seriously and to resolve them on priority. All the development related works for the tribal population should be expedited and completed at the earliest, the Advisor said.
