Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah condole demise of senior party worker

JAMMU OCTOBER 25- National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed grief over the demise of Wazira Begum, former Member Legislative Council, who passed away here this morning.

In their condolence messages to the bereaved family, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah recalled the role of Wazira Begum towards empowerment and emancipation of women across the State.

The two leaders expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Provincial President Devender Singh Rana was among the hundreds of people present at Gujjar Nagar Graveyard here, where the mortal remains of Wazira Begum were laid to rest.

He was accompanied by senior National Conference leaders including State Secretary Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir, Provincial Vice President Choudhry Haroon, Additional Spokesperson Surinder Singh Bunty and others.

Rana conveyed the condolences of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to the bereaved members of the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, National Conference leaders have also condoled the demise of Abdul Majid Malik, husband of Provincial Secretary Dilshad Malik, who passed away here the other day.
