Sopore: Police arrested a timber smuggler and seized illegal timber in Dangiwacha area of Sopore.
During the intervening night of 23/24 September 2018, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha laid a Naka at Dangiwacha, a police spokesman said.
During Naka checking, a Tata mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK05A 6008 was interrupted. During checking, illegal timber was found in the vehicle, said the spokesman.
The accused person identified as Bashir Ahmad War son of Ghulam Mohiudin War resident of Chatoosa Rafiabad was arrested. Timber and vehicle were seized.
“In this regard, a case FIR Number 145/2018 under section 379 RPC, 6 FA was registered and investigation taken up,” said the spokesman.
