Umar Azhar Kakroo will be Chairman of Municipal Council Baramulla

BARAMULLA, OCT 22: A meeting of elected Councilors of Congress was held in Baramulla on Monday in which it was unanimously decided that Umar Azhar Kakroo will be Chairman of Municipal Council (MC) Baramulla.

The meeting was presided by Shoaib Nabi Lone, Congress District President Baramulla.

Shoaib Nabi told reporters that having won majority of wards in Baramulla, the recently elected Congress Councilors have elected Omer Azhar Kakroo as the chairman of the municipal council Baramulla.

“Our elected ward members have unanimously elected Omer Azhar Kakroo as chairman MCB. We have 12 councilors and two more are expected to join us,” he added.

Kakroo would be youngest chairman of MCB Baramulla. Omer is son of the senior congress workers late Jaan Azhar Kakro.

Congress has won 12 seats in 21 member council in Baramulla, while as BJP secured 6 and Independent candidates bagged 3 seats.
