ROs, AROs imparted training for upcoming Panchayat polls

BUDGAM, OCTOBER 19: The training of Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) under first phase for the upcoming Panchayat elections was conducted today at New Conference Hall Budgam.

The training session was supervised by Nodal Officer elections, ADC Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Shah who presented a detailed power point presentation and directed the concerned to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of polls in all Panchayat halqas of the district.

The elections of total 296 Sarpanchs and 2433 Panchs in 17 blocks would be conducted in the 9 phases, likely to be held from next month in the district.

During the training session, Nodal Officer while addressing the designated officers directed them to make coordinated efforts for smooth conduct of polls.

He directed the designated officers to ensure that all arrangements and preparedness is fully in place at all the locations in advance to facilitate smooth filing of nominations papers, scrutiny, rejection of nominations and qualification of nominations and completion of polling process through the set pro- forma.

He also directed to ensure safe keeping and proper lock and key mechanism at collection centers and strong rooms.

On the occasion, study material including RO and ARO books were also distributed about smooth conduct of polls and electoral rolls were also distributed among the ROs and AROs.
