JAMMU, OCTOBER 19: Principal Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring Department (PD&MD) Rohit Kansal today chaired a high-level meeting at Civil Secretariat Jammu to take a comprehensive review of the arrangements for bi-annual Durbar Move.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, IGP Jammu SDS Jamwal, DC Jammu Ramesh Kumar and senior officers from JMC, GAD, Estates, SRTC, FCS&CA, Health, PDD, PHE, Floriculture, JKTDC were present at the meeting.

Rohit Kansal directed the IT Department for installation of computers in each Department at the Civil Secretariat Jammu well before the opening of offices to avoid wear and tear during physical transportation of computers with bi-annual Durbar Move. IT further informed that from the next Durbar Move, the WiFi and networking equipment won’t be shifted during Durbar Move as Civil Secretariat Jammu and Srinagar shall be provided with dedicated WiFi facilities.

The Principal Secretary directed the IT department to ensure that LAN/Internet connections in Jammu Secretariat are fully functional by the time move offices reopen here.

The meeting also discussed security arrangements at Secretariat and residential quarters for move employees in detail. The security officials asked for the requirement of security bunkers at Civil Secretariat, especially New Assembly Hall building, which was accepted by Principal Secretary.

Kansal directed the officers from Estates to ensure adequate arrangements for ferrying of official records and transportation of employees and said that only one-way traffic from Jammu to Srinagar should be allowed during these five days to avoid congestion at highway.

Principal Secretary asked Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to issue temporary ration cards and gas connections to move employees for their Jammu stay and to ensure timely supply of rations besides, directing the concerned departments to ensure complete sanitation, availability of electricity and potable drinking water in all residential colonies of the move employees. He said the employees moving to Jammu should be provided new Ration Cards on the production of their official Identity Card along with a self-declaration regarding number of family members.

He also asked concerned officers of the Estates department and Jammu Municipal Corporation to inspect employee residential colonies and ensure that necessary facilities were in place including cleaning up water storage tanks and launching intensive sanitation drives and defogging in all colonies to tackle with dengue/malaria.

Kansal directed the concerned officer of the Floriculture Department for face lifting of the Secretariat lawns and beautification of roads in and around the Secretariat and government residential colonies.

He asked the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that the renovation and repair work in all the Government residential colonies is completed well in time, while facilities like drinking water, electricity etc are made available. He also stressed on better synergy among the department for putting in place the arrangements for smooth functioning of offices.
