Jammu, Oct 17: An alleged drug-peddler was arrested in Jammu and 50 grams of heroin was seized from his possession, the police said on Wednesday.
Rayees Ahmad Ganai, a resident of Verinag area of Anantnag district, was held near Ban in Nagrota area on Tuesday evening while he was on his way to Jammu, they said.
When asked to stop by the police party, Ganai abandoned the vehicle and tried to escape but was caught after a brief chase, they added.
The vehicle was seized and a case under NDPS act was registered against the accused.
