State Information Commissioner calls on Governor

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 13:  Mohammad Ashraf Mir, State Information Commissioner, called on Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan today and apprised the latter about the present state of functioning of the Commission and the work which has been disposed of.

Governor discussed with Mir, possible measures which could be pursued to introduce significantly increased accountability of the administrative apparatus and promptitude, efficiency and visible transparency in the functioning of all institutions, particularly the public delivery system.

Governor further advised Mir to ensure that each level of functionary is working properly so that the Right of people to Information is realized in letter and spirit.

During the meeting, Mir informed the Governor that the Commission has prepared and published the pending Annual Reports for the years 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17. Further, he presented to the Governor a Copy of Annual Reports of the State Information Commission for the years  2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, besides, informing the Governor that the Annual Report for the year 2017-18 has also been prepared and will be forwarded to the Government within next two months.
