Army conducts volleyball tournament at saldhar

Srinagar, Oct 13: With an aim to bring in communal harmony and to inculcate sportsman spirit amongst the youth, a Volleyball Tournament was held at Saldhar by Indian Army.

The event was part of the Army’s efforts to promote positive youth development through sports and provide a platform to showcase the hidden talent of local youth.

Two teams from Ramban District participated in the tournament. Batoi village team was eventually adjudged the champion team after beating Saldhar village in a keenly contested match. The event witnessed an over whelming response both in terms of participation and spectators. Large number of locals turned up to witness the match during the conduct of the tournament.

Participating team members displayed excellent sportsman spirit during the conduct of the tournament. The Sarpanch and elders of the villages expressed their gratitude towards the Army in its endeavours to motivate the youth of the region and bring in bonhomie.
