Nusrat guides Srinagar to clinch Kashmir Inter-district Women Cricket Championship

Ganderbal, Oct 12: Srinagar won the second Kashmir Inter-district Women Championship on Friday as the team beat Anantnag by 35 runs at Sports stadium Gadoora here.

Batting first, Srinagar got off to a slow start losing two wickets in the quick successions.

Nusrat stood on the pitch and her quick 63 runs helped Srinagar to set a target of 116 runs for Anantnag.

Anantnag got a good Start and were scoring runs easily. Rubaya Syed, an experienced player was dominating the play with cool and calculated batting.

On the other side, Anantnag was losing back to back wickets, thanks to off spinner Bushra Ashraf.

Rubaya Syed was single-handedly navigating her team towards the target and with her dismissal all hopes of Anantnag’s victory dashed as the team only managed to score 80 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 15 overs.

Srinagar won the match by 345 runs and claimed the championship.

Rubaya syed was adjudged best player of the championship and Nusrat was adjudged Women of the match. Bushara took away the prize of Best all-rounder of the championship.

The championship was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Women Cricket Association in collaboration with 5 Rashtriya Rifles.
