Chinar Volleyball Premier League concludes at Baramulla

Srinagar, Oct 12: To promote sports culture in the Valley and provide an opportunity to the youth to showcase their talent, the Army conducted Chinar Volleyball Premier League at Baramulla from 02 Oct to 11 Oct 2018 which witnessed enthusiastic participation of ten teams from Baramulla, Manasbal, Durgmulla, Seer, Qaziabad, Badgam and Tangdhar.

In a statement issued here, an army spokesman said, “All the matches were keenly contested and the final match was played between Super Challengers and Manasbal Warriors with tremendous zeal and effervescence which drew lot of cheers from the crowd. After a close finish, the Manasbal Warriors won the final match and lifted the Chinar Volleyball 2018 Trophy.”

“The Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, was the Chief Guest for this event which was also graced by the GOC Dagger Division, DC Baramulla, SSP Baramulla and District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra. The Chief Guest felicitated the young winners who performed well during the event and appreciated the efforts put in by the players,” said the spokesman.

“Speaking on the occasion, the Chinar Corps Commander encouraged the youth to actively participate in various sports competitions for which the Army, Civil Administration and the civil society have joined hands to create a conducive atmosphere in the Valley. The Chinar Corps Commander also hoped that some of the players will find places in the State and National teams in the future as well,” he added.
