Srinagar, Oct 11: A Hurriyat activist was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Meemender area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.
Tariq Ahmad Ganie, who was a former militant, was fired upon by gunmen near his home at Meemender village.
In the incident Ganie received serious bullet wounds and was taken to nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, reported news agency GNS.
A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the investigation in the case has been launched.
