DC Baramulla flags off mobile testing lab

BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 11: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today flagged off Mobile Testing Laboratory in presence of Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Baramulla here from the office complex, as part of the 10 days long drive being launched by the Department of Food Safety.

The testing lab has been flagged off upon the directions of Commissioner Food Safety J&K with an aim to ensure qualitative food items besides generating awareness among the masses.

The Mobile Lab, equipped with the necessary technical expertise shall visit across the district to collect food samples that will be subsequently tested for human consumption.

Speaking on the occasion, Nodal Officer Hamidullah Dar highlighted the significance of the initiative and said that the move will help in containing food adulteration. He said that food adulteration had serious effects on the health of people which is the cause of some fatal diseases. Moreover, he said that the team boarding mobile lab will educate people about the impact of substandard commodities.
