Srinagar, Oct 08: Government forces on Monday launched fresh searches in Sopore township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, three days after an alleged overground militant worker escaped from the police custody.

Reports said the forces launched a cordon and search operation in Jalalabad-Adipora area of Sopore.

A joint team of Army’s 22 RR, J&K Police and CRPF conducted door to door search operation in the area, they said.

This is the third time that the forces carried out searches in the area since the October 05, when an over-ground worker of militants Mehraj-u-din Khan alias Maroof of New Colony Sopore, escaped from police custody.
