SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 07: District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian Dr. Owais Ahmad today said that the administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth, free and fair conduct of Urban Local Body (ULB) polls.
He said Panchayati Raj institutions would address peoples issues at grass root level as they are necessary for the deliverance of basic amenities to people.
The DEO informed that there are nine blocks, 98 Panch halqas, 791 Panch constituencies, 791 polling stations located at 272 places in the district having voter population of 146000for Panchayats around.
