PULWAMA, OCTOBER 03: District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, G.M Dar today declared open a two day sports tournament as a part of centre’s KHELO INDIA initiative “sports for peace and development” at District Police Lines Pulwama.
Joint Director, Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), SSP Pulwama, District Youth Services and Sports officer, other concerned officials and large number of students were present on the occasion.
The sports event will witness separate competitions for boys and girls in cricket, football, Kho Kho, Tug of War, Kabbadi, volley ball etc.
The DDC directed the district officers to go for a wide publicity of the event to attract maximum participation of the youth.
The DDC appealed the youth to participate in large numbers and said that “Khelo India Scheme” has been launched with an objective to involve in sporting activities and to channelize their energy in the right direction and imbibe leadership qualities, team sprit, discipline and social cohesion among them.
