Srinagar, Oct 01: Police on Monday claimed to have solved a robbery case by arresting the accused from Srinagar.

A police spokesperson said that Police Station Maisuma received a complaint from Mohammad Shaban Wagay, a resident of Chari-Sharief, that an unidentified person robbed him of Rs 58,000 at Budshah Chowk.

“Subsequently a case was registered and during investigation some suspected persons were questioned, while led police to one Shamas-ud-din Beigh, who was apprehended on September 24.

“During sustained questioning, the suspect confessed his involvement and the robbed money was recovered from his rented house at Habba Kadal on his disclosure. The money was handed over to the complainant,” spokesman added.
