Rs 89.50 lakh loan disbursed by SC, ST&BC Dev Corp to 33 beneficiaries

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 30: The Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development Corporation today sanctioned and disbursed loans to the tune of Rs 89.50 lakh in favour 33 beneficiaries of Disabled category in collaboration with National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation (NHFDC) for establishment of income generating units by these beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director of the Corporation, R K Bhat said that the corporation has during past two months improved its recovery position manifold and also disbursed loans to the target groups to the tune of Rs 8.50 crore upto September 2018, against Rs 2.04 crore disbursed in corresponding period of last year.

The Managing Director also interacted with the beneficiaries and handed over loan authority letters to them under different categories and also handed over one Vehicle Load carrier-207, to a beneficiary of District Jammu under ST category.

On the occasion Managing Director informed that under the directions of Secretary Social Welfare, Farooq Ahmad Lone, management of the corporation has taken various concrete steps to revive the working of the corporation in order to deliver the benefits of the target groups in the shortest possible time and in a transparent manner and recover the over dues of the corporation to strengthen the financial health of the corporation.

Managing Director said that on the intervention of Secretary Social Welfare, Farooq Ahmad Lone, the management of the corporation has successfully got resolved long pending Government Guarantee issue from the State Government and also various pending issues with the different National Level Corporations of Government of India have been resolved as a result of the Apex Corporation are now releasing more funds than the fixed allocation to the Corporation.

He said the Corporation is working for socio-economic and educational upliftment to the members belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities, SafaiKaramcharis their dependants, handicapped including disabled soldiers and their disabled dependents in the State.
