Municipal polls: 1 candidate files nomination in Beerwah, 13 in Charar-e-Sharief, 12 in Magam

Budgam, Sep 28: A total of 26 candidates have filled their nomination papers for the post of Councilors in 39 wards of three municipal committees of Budgam district, six of which will go for polls on October 10 in the second phase.

According to sources, a single candidate filled the nomination papers in the 13 wards of Beerwah municipal area.

In Magam and Charar-e-Sharief, 13 and 12 candidates have submitted nominations in the 13 wards of each municipal area respectively, official sources said.

The last date for filling of nominations in these three municipal committees was September 27, while scrutiny of nominations was held on September 28. The last date for withdrawing of candidature is October 01.

Pertinently, Budgam district is divided into six municipal committees including Budgam, Chadoora, Khansahib, Charar-e-Sharief, Beerwah and Magam.

Budgam has total 72 wards and polling will be held in two phases on October 08 and 10.

Earlier, 31 candidates submitted their nominations with 13 in Budgam, 11 in Chadoora and seven in Khansahib.
