BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 27: Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bandipora today celebrated its annual day which is part of series of such events being organized in the district.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was chief guest on the occasion while as Chief Education Officer Bandipora Javid Munshi was Guest of honour.

On the occasion, students mesmerized the audience by presenting a variety of cultural programmes besides naats, drama, Kashmiri folk dance and school Tarana.

Speaking on the occasion the DDC advised students to excel in various fields of education with full spirit and confidence to achieve success. While speaking, he shared his experience and replied to questions related to civil services examination asked by the students.

DDC announced 50 ipads and up-gradation of the school library with modern facilities besides renovation of classrooms. He also released an annual school prospectus and appreciated teachers for their efforts in providing quality education to the students. He felicitated two best teachers of the institution with mementoes and assured full support from the administration for the development of educational scenario in the district.

During the address, Mohammed Rafiq Parray principal of the institution highlighted the achievements made by the students on various fronts including sports. He said that a teacher has a vital role in shaping the career and the future of the students. He urged upon the students to opt scientific and rational approach for their studies and development of society in every respect.

Apart from school staff intellectuals, educationists and writers were also present on the occasion.
