Srinagar: Paying tributes to youth killed in Tangdar and Sopore encounters, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani reiterated that the youth of Kashmir have opted gun as a reaction to the ‘occupation of Kashmir.’
Terming Kashmir as a basic issue of contention between the two nuclear powers of the sub-continent the Hurriyat Chairman, in a statement issued today, regretted the ‘stubborn postures of India to deal this political issue with its military might.’
He said that resolution of Kashmir issue will ensure a new era of peace and development not only in Jammu and Kashmir but in whole South Asia.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Geelani accused that security forces are using chemical weapon during the cordon and search operation.
Geelani alleged that chemical weapons were used at at Bandipora and demanded a high level probe by the international war crime tribunal under the guidance of UN.
The Hurriyat chairman while declaring election boycott as a democratic and political right of the people, ‘castigated the oppressive and suppressive measures of intimidation and incarceration’ of the resistance leaders during the nocturnal raids conducted by the police forces.
