Budgam hospital collects 140 pints of blood on Ashura day

Budgam, Sep 24: The blood donation camp organised by Aga Syed Yousuf Memorial (ASYM) district hospital on Ashura day here witnessed heavy rush of donors, who donated around 140 pints of blood.

Hospital officials told ‘Kashmir Images’ that the camp was held to make available the blood supply in Budgam hospitals and raise awareness among people about the benefits of blood donation. They said that mostly youth came forward and donated blood.

Taking to Kashmir Images, Medical Superintendent ASYM hospital, Dr Deeba said, “We collected around 140 pints of blood and 40 were transferred to Chadoora hospital.”

Meanwhile, locals here demanded that only needy patients must be given blood. “It has been observed in Budgam hospital that people suffer in absence of blood supply. We hope hospital will provide collected blood to deserved patients.”
