ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 22: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today convened a meeting to review the status of languishing developmental projects in the district.

The DDC directed the concerned departments to project the liabilities of the ongoing projects/schemes, implementation of District Development Board decisions and directions issued by the Governor.

He emphasized on the key sectors like PHE for which Rs 250 crore have been reflected under NRDWP, PDD under PMDP, drainage of flood and rain waters, construction of pump sheds, construction of health centres, school buildings under RAMSA, construction of bridges, solid waste management project, completion of SRTC shopping complex, liability of Rs 4.50 crore estimated cost Halmula Park and utility shifting cost of PHE and PDD on the various upgraded road projects.

The DDC also stressed for projecting issues of public importance, most of which related to scarcity of drinking water, construction of filtration plants in the district, delays in starting works under Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Power Development Department, construction / up gradation of road projects under CRF and the need to expeditiously complete several languishing projects.

The meeting was attended by the ADDC Anantnag, CEOs of PDA, KDA, VDA, CMO Anantnag, SE PDD, PHE, Xen R&B Vailo Anantnag, Qazigund, Xen PHE, I&FC, PDD, district officers of Horticulture, Sheep, Animal Husbandry, and executive officers of all Municipal Committees and Municipal Corporation, Anantnag.
