LAKHANPUR, SEPTEMBER 19: The sleuths of Excise Department at Toll Post, Mandi Mendikern foiled a major bid to smuggle polythene into the state by seizing 1000 kgs of banned polythene.
The drive was carried out as per the directions of Talat Parvez Rohella, Excise Commissioner.
The checking team on inspection of a vehicle reporting at the Toll Post Mandi for clearance was found loaded with polythene covered under bakery products.
The whole operation was supervised by Deputy Excise Commissioner, Ashish Kumar Gupta and carried out by Excise & Taxation Officers, Abhiskahe Abrol, Inspector G.P. Singh along with Excise Guards Davinder Singh and Sohan Lal.
The Excise Commissioner, while appreciating the team of Toll Post Lakhanpur for its sustained efforts to tackle the smugglers and criminals, has enjoined them to carry on the special drive with added vigour and zeal.
