In his presidential address, Hurriyat chairman regretted the role of Britishers for resorting to delaying tactics in implementing the right to self-determination as the only democratic and peaceful formula for the permanent resolution of this issue, the statement said, adding, Geelani also regretted the dubious role played by some crooked leaders of Kashmir to help India in its illegal occupation of Kashmir.

Addressing the meeting, the Hurriyat leader advised the members of the Majlis Shoora ro preach Islamic teachings in letter and spirit for eradicating the social evils, consumption of drugs and other immoral activities spreading in our society in the grab of modernism.

“Paying rich tributes to the martyrs who laid their precious lives for the sacred mission during the ongoing movement, the Hurriyat leader pledged to carry this sacred mission to its logical conclusion,” said the statement, adding, Geelani also saluted the resolve and patience of all incarcerated leaders and activists languishing in jails in and outside the state.
