Secretary YSS declares open Martial Arts Carnival 2018 in Srinagar

SRINAGAR SEPTEMBER 13: Secretary, Youth Services &Sports and Information, Sarmad Hafeez today declared open 3-Day Martial Arts Carnival-2018 at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex here.

The first-ever such Carnival in the state is being organized by J&K State Sports Council.

Around 1500 Martial Arts players are participating in various events in Judo, Thang-Ta, Taekwondo, Wushu, Boxing, Sqay, Karate, PencakSilat and various other events.

Speaking on the occasion, Sarmad Hafeez said sports not only infuse fresh energy in the students but also brings in discipline and grace.

He stressed upon the State Sports Council and organizers to provide every facility to the participants, students and coaches during the three- carnival. He appreciated the role of the organizers for organizing such eventswhich will go a long way in promoting sports culture in the state.

Highlighting the purpose of organizing the event, Hafeez said participants will interact and socialize with each from different districts and also exhibit their sporting talent.

He further stated that SSC will provide broader platform, proper coaching, infrastructure, well equipped stadiums and other related facilities to the youth to harness their sports talent so that they can represent the state in the national and international events.

He said SSC will provide full support not only martial art games but also other sports activities and games.

Secretary State Sports Council, Dr Naseem Javaid Chaudhary, other officials of the Council and large number of enthusiastic youths were present at the event.
