Kupwara: Army today claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
A top Army official said that a group of infiltrating militants were challenged in the morning at LoC Balbir post near Datgali in Keran triggering a gun battle at around 10:40 am.
Some unconfirmed reports said that three infiltrating militants got killed during the encounter. However, there was no official word about the killings.
However, no body of any militant was retrieved when reports last came in.
Reinforcement has been rushed to the area and the operation in the area is going on, sources said.
