Dir Agriculture chairs ‘Sale Rate Fixation Committee’ meeting

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13 Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today convened a high-level meeting of divisional Sale Rate Fixation Committee to take stock of the preparations for Rabi season.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers that quality seed availability should be ensured in all the districts of the Kashmir Division well in time, so that farmers may not face any hardships.

Andrabi directed the officers of different agencies and allied wings to work with close coordination and commitment for the betterment and upliftment of farming community.

During the meeting, the sale rate for different Rabi seeds was also decided. Oil Seed Rs. 3,000/- per quintal, Oats Rs. 3,500/-, Peas Arkel Rs. 4,835/-, Peas Rachna Rs. 3,360/-, Wheat Rs.2,500/- per quintal. It was also decided that the Paddy Seed will be procured from farmers at the rate of Rs. 2,200/- per quintal. The sale rate for processed Honey was fixed at Rs. 500/- per Kg.

Deepak Kumar Kachroo Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Asmat Hussain Divisional Seed Certification Officer, Manzoor Ahmad Shah Divisional Seed Production Officer, Dr. Gowhar Representative from SKUAST-K, Prof. Mohammad Ashraf HoD Plant Breeding and Genetics SKUAST-K, Bibi Tohfa Water Use Specialist and Ghulam Mohammad Babloo Accounts Officer Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir attended the meeting.
